Meet the Artist

Michelle DeQuattro is a New York painter whose work braids together jazz, swing, meditation, film noir, and the rhythm of the city.

Working from pure intuition, she lets each piece arrive on its own terms—color, line, and handwritten margin notes layered until a scene emerges. She never consciously emulates the masters, though viewers often see echoes of Picasso, Van Gogh, Munch, Kandinsky, and pop surrealism within the work.

Her paintings have appeared on magazine covers and showcased in select exhibitions and private viewings in New York, and owned in private collection across the US. Today, her work continues to explore the intersection of music, movement, memory, and imagination.
